Medical Assistant Gap-Year Program
Launch Your Medical Career at Advanced Dermatology Associates
Are you a driven pre-med or pre-PA student looking for high-volume clinical experience before applying to graduate school?
The Advanced Dermatology Associates (ADA) Gap-Year Program offers recent college graduates an immersive, hands-on experience in one of the region’s leading dermatology practices. Unlike a traditional internship, our program places you at the center of the clinical workflow, working directly with board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants.
Why Choose the ADA Gap-Year Program?
Our program is designed to give you a competitive edge for medical or PA school applications by providing:
Direct Clinical Experience: Act as a scribe and clinical assistant, documenting patient encounters and assisting in complex dermatologic procedures.
Mentorship: Work alongside our providers who are dedicated to teaching the next generation of healthcare leaders.
Professional Development: Enhance your resume with a year of high-impact patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role as a Gap-Year Medical Assistant
As an integral part of our team, your daily responsibilities will include:
Scribing: Utilizing our ModMed EMA Electronic Health Record system to document histories, physical exams, and treatment plans in real-time.
Clinical Triage: Rooming patients, taking vitals, and preparing them for examinations or procedures.
Surgical Support: Setting up sterile trays, assisting during surgical procedures, and providing post-operative wound care instructions.
Patient Education: Explaining diagnoses and treatment regimens to patients under the guidance of our clinicians.
Program Requirements
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month paid position.
Education: Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree by the start date.
Aspirations: A demonstrated intent to apply to Medical School, PA School, or an equivalent graduate healthcare program.
