Dr. Steven Oberlender completed his training in dermatology and dermatologic surgery at Harvard Medical School. After finishing his dermatology residency in 1999, he completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Oberlender is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he graduated summa cum laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry. He then received a scholarship to pursue both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Oberlender then spent one year training in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania before starting residency. He has published numerous scientific and clinical articles in several different medical journals and has lectured at various meetings around the country.
He is glad to be back to Pennsylvania since the year 2000 to practice dermatology and Mohs surgery (www.mohscollege.org). Dr. Oberlender currently resides in the Lehigh Valley with his wife and three daughters.
