Dr. McClain grew up in the Williamsport, Pennsylvania area of central Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Delaware and then attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he earned his degree as a Medical Doctor in 2008. He completed his intern year of residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. He then went on to complete his residency in dermatology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. McClain has published several scientific articles and made numerous professional presentations. His dermatologic training spans the range of surgical, cosmetic and general dermatology.
He is the Associate Program Director of Lehigh Valley Health Network and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. McClain enjoys competitive running and is a tennis enthusiast. His hobbies include basic computer programming and meteorology. He and his wife are glad to be back home in Pennsylvania.
