Advances in laser technology now allow dermatologists to precisely control the removal of unwanted skin lesions. Laser and intense light systems target specific lesions, and eliminate them with minimal risk of damage to the surrounding normal structures, minimizing the risk of scarring and accelerating the healing process.
At Advanced Dermatology Associates, we have several laser and intense light treatments available to address specific skin problem. We are continually upgrading our laser technology as advances are made in this exciting field. We are proud to offer you the safest and most effective therapies available.
eCO2/Pixel laser (both are fractional lasers)
Rejuvenate sun damaged, weathered, and wrinkled facial skin with Fractional CO2 laser,eCO2, or Fractional Erbium laser, Pixel. Fractional laser technology allows to precisely remove the top-most layers of skin. As the resurfaced area heals with a layer of new skin, years of abnormal pigmentation, sun damage, and wrinkling improves or disappears. Recovery time for these procedures are generally 7 -10 and treatments can be repeated if needed.
Exilis, not a laser but Radio Frequency (RF) technology to tighten skin and eleminate fat for body contouring. RF energy stimulates and strengthens the collagen network, creating a tighter and smoother appearing skin on face and neck. To reduce fat cells, RF energy safely heats and speeds up the metabolic activity of fat cells causing the fat cells to shrink. And unlike most other devices, a skin tightening treatment is done immediately after a body contouring treatment to help to tighten the skin. Most body areas can be treated.
Intense Pulsed Light
Photoderm is for the treatment of specific broken blood vessels on the face and treatment of red birthmarks, such as port wine stains. PhotoFacial is for the treatment of redness caused by rosacea, mild sun damage to face, neck, chest and hands. The light emitted from PhotoDerm is absorbed specifically by blood and blood vessels, resulting in the destruction of these vessels with minimal risk of damage to the surrounding structures.
PhotoFacial is a technique using an Intense Pulsed Light source to improve facial redness, eliminate broken capillaries and lighten brown spots on the entire face, neck, chest and hands. Multiple treatments are required to achieve results and treatments are typically performed one every 3 to 4 weeks.
To get the best results and maintain your results an at home skin regimen is recommended.

Tattoos and traumatic tattoos, such as areas of bluish discoloration from previous abrasions or accidents, can be improved using this laser technology. Tattoos generally take multiple treatment sessions depending on the size, age of the tattoo and how many colors were used to create the tattoo. The more colors the more difficult it is too treat.
The Excimer (Xtrac) laser is a form of UVB phototherapy that produces amplified light and laser energy. UVB (ultraviolet B light) is the most common form of phototherapy used to treat various skin diseases, including psoriasis. You will be exposed to this high energy UV light for a varying length of time. This treatment is NOT A CURE, but can effectively control or improve your disease. Patients have used this treatment successfully for many years and often able to maintain clearance of improved skin over extended periods of time.
