Mr. Wassel was born in Connelsville, PA and was raised in central New York. He attended Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he completed his undergraduate degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Mr. Wassel then took a position as a medical assistant, working for Advanced Dermatology Associates for three years, after which time, he furthered his education to become a physician assistant, graduating from DeSales University, Center Valley, PA, obtaining a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies. After graduation, Mr. Wassel accepted a position working in pain management in Allentown, PA, where he worked for one year prior to accepting a position with Advanced Dermatology Associates. Mr. Wassel is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and was also awarded special recognition in surgery from the NCCPA by passing the national physician assistant surgical boards. He is licensed through the state of Pennsylvania to practice as a physician assistant. Mr. Wassel is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
