Cynthia L. Bartus, M.D.

Allentown and Bethlehem offices

Dr. Bartus grew up in the suburban Philadelphia area.  She graduated from the University of Miami and then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where she earned her degree as a Medical Doctor in 2006. She completed a transitional year internship at Crozer Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania. She completed her dermatology residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bartus subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana in Carmel, Indiana under the mentorship of Dr. C. William Hanke.  

She is double board certified in dermatology and micrographic surgery/dermatologic oncology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American College of Mohs Surgery. She is a member of multiple medical societies including the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Association of Professors of Dermatology, Philadelphia Dermatological Society (past President and member of the Executive Board), and Pennsylvania Dermatologic Society (Director at Large). Dr. Bartus has published numerous scientific articles and made multiple professional presentations throughout the country.  She has extensive training in therapeutic cosmetic dermatologic procedures such as facial fillers, lasers, and neuromodulators. She is fellowship-trained and board certified in Mohs micrographic Surgery and surgical defect reconstruction. 

She is the Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at Lehigh Valley Health Network and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is also the Program Director of the Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship Program. 

Dr. Bartus is an avid athlete and enjoys ultradistance marathons and triathlons.  She also enjoys skiing, traveling, and taking care of her rabbits.  She and her husband are happy to have returned to their roots in Pennsylvania.
